Service terms

Last updated 7 October 2026.

These terms apply to your Codexio Dash account and to any plan you buy from us online or through the Dash. They're between you (the business that holds the account) and Codexio Design Studios, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). Our data processing terms form part of them. Any plan also has its own short terms, shown to you before you order and saved with your order word for word; if those terms and these differ, the plan's terms win. Project work agreed in a separate written proposal is governed by that proposal.

1. Your account

  • The Dash is for businesses and organisations. By signing up you confirm you can act for the business you name, and that you own or manage the website you add.
  • Give us accurate details and keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens under your account, including your teammates' accounts. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in.
  • The person who signs up is the account owner. Only the owner (or we, at the owner's request) can hand the account to someone else.

2. The free Dash

A free account includes your website report, re-runs within the limits shown in the Dash, our free tools and a monthly re-check. It has no time limit. We may change what's included or end free accounts that haven't been used for 12 months; we'll tell you first.

3. Plans and prices

  • The price and terms of a plan are fixed when you order it. Changes to our price list only affect new orders.
  • Some plans start straight away; others (websites, quoted and one-off work) start when we've confirmed them with you, and nothing is charged before that.
  • Monthly plans run in billing months from their start date (for example, the 14th to the 13th). Each month's charge is due on its first day.
  • Monthly hours included in a plan reset each billing month and don't roll over. We only work beyond your allowance after you've approved it, at £55 an hour.
  • Prices are as shown on our pricing page and in the plan's terms when you order.

4. Paying

We'll invoice you, or take payment by card through Stripe where the Dash offers that. Payment is due on the due date shown. If a payment is more than 7 days late we'll let you know, and if it stays unpaid after we've reminded you we may pause the paid features of your plan until it's settled. Your data isn't deleted while a plan is paused.

5. Changing or ending a plan

  • You can upgrade at any time; it starts as soon as it's confirmed. A downgrade starts when your current plan could end.
  • To end a plan, give notice in the Dash (Plan & billing). It ends on the later of the end of its notice period and the end of any minimum term in its terms. Until then you can change your mind.
  • Website payment plans (a website paid monthly over 24 months) can't be cancelled, because the website is built up front; you can settle early at any time for the remaining payments less the care-plan part. After the last payment, or once settled, the care plan you chose at sign-up continues at its agreed price, and can be ended like any other plan.
  • If you're a consumer rather than a business, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your right to cancel within 14 days of a distance contract.

6. Who owns what

  • Your content, your data and your website's visitor data are yours.
  • A website we build for you is yours once it's paid for in full, including its design and code (apart from third-party components, which stay under their own licences). Until then we license it to you to use.
  • The Dash, our tools and their software are ours. Your plan gives you the right to use them while it's active.

7. The Codexio script on your website

The Dash measures your website through a script you (or we) add to it. You're responsible for telling your visitors about it in your own privacy notice and, where the law requires, asking for their consent before it measures them. The script sets no cookies, respects Global Privacy Control, and has an opt-out you can offer visitors (cx("optout")). Don't use the Dash to collect special category data (health, beliefs and the like), payment card details or passwords: the script is built to skip password and card fields, and you shouldn't ask for them in the widget.

8. Fair use

Use the Dash and our tools for websites you own or manage, and within the limits shown. Don't try to break, overload or get round its security, resell it without our agreement, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that puts the service or other clients at risk, and we'll tell you why.

9. The service

We work hard to keep the Dash available and its numbers accurate, and we monitor it around the clock, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted or that every measurement will be exact (browsers and privacy settings block some). Uptime alerts and reports are information to help you, not a guarantee about your website. We may improve and change the Dash; we won't remove a main feature of your plan during its term.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Otherwise, we're not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or data you could have backed up, or for indirect loss, and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to what you've paid us in that period.

11. Your data

We handle personal data as described in our privacy notice (for your account) and our data processing terms (for your website's visitor data). You can export your leads at any time. When your account closes we delete your data within 90 days, apart from what we must keep by law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is to your disadvantage we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can end your plan before then without waiting for any notice period. The price and terms of a plan you've already ordered don't change.

13. The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If something goes wrong, please tell us through our contact form first; most things can be fixed quickly.
